Velez, 71, of Vineland died Thursday at South Jersey Hospital-Newcomb. Born in Lares, Puerto Rico, he had lived in Vineland since 1951. Prior to retirement, he was a glass cutter for Ace Glass Co.

of Vineland for 19 years. Prior to that he was a machine operator for Grays Benito Velez Ferry Brick Co. of Franklinville for 22 years. He was a founding member of the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church of Vineland. He was a founding member of Accion Social Puertoriquena.

He enjoyed vegetable gardening and traveling. He is survived by his wife, Emelina (Gonzalez) Velez of Vineland; two sons, Beny and his wife, Hilda Velez of Vineland, and William and his wife, Karen Velez of Pittsgrove; a daughter, Milta and her husband, Nelson Perez of Takoma Park, six grandchildren, William, Tiffany, Anissa, Jason, Beny and Carissa; a brother, Jose Crespo of Las Vegas; five sisters, Gloria Maria Alvarez of Houston, Mercedes Martinez of Trujillo, Puerto Rico, Ana Maria Alvarez of Rio Piedras, Puerto Rico, Carmen Maria Alvarez of Los Angeles and Rosario Ortiz of Houston; 11 nieces and 10 nephews. Services will be 10 a.m. Monday from the Spanish Seventh Day Adventist Church, 230 W. Chestnut Vineland.

Viewing hours will be from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 9 to 10 a.m. Monday in the church. Burial will follow in Siloam Cemetery, Vineland. Arrangements are by the Wainwright-Bernhardt Funeral Home, Vineland.

EVELYN HAGNEY, 92 Former manager for Fralingers Salt Water Taffy Store Evelyn Martin Hagney, 92, of Upper Deerfield Township died Tuesday at South Jersey HospitalElmer, where she had been a patient for two days. She had been in declining health for the past seven years. Born in Atlantic City, the daughter of the late Walter and Mae Benner Martin, she was the wife of the late Joseph D. Hagney. She had been an Upper Deerfield resident for seven years and prior to that had lived in Atlantic City.

In her younger years, Mrs. Hagney had managed the Fralingers Salt Water Taffy Store in Atlantic City and had also been a waitress at the former Hotel Morton in Atlantic City. She was a member of St. Nicholas of Tolentine Roman Catholic Church, Atlantic City, and was a member of the former Agenda Women's Club in the shore area. She had also served as a volunteer at Our Lady's Residence Nursing Center in Pleasantville.

She is survived by a daughter, John "Terry" O'Neill, both of Upper Deerfield Township; a brother, William R. Martin of Pensacola, four grandchildren, Patricia A. Matlock and her husband, James R. Matlock of Upper Deerfield Township, John T. O'Neill Jr.

and his wife, Dolores O'Neill of Upper Deerfield Township, Teresa L. Janetta and her husband, Paul J. Janetta of Vineland and Kathleen M. Capps and her husband, Sheridan R. Capps of West Chester, 12 great-grandchildren; her caregiver, Blanche Price; and several nieces and nephews.

A funeral liturgy will be held 10 a.m. Monday at Immaculate Conception Church, 312 N. Pearl Bridgeton. Burial will take place in Holy Cross Cemetery, Mays Landing. Friends may call one hour prior to the services Monday at the church.

She was a past member and president of the sisterhood of Sons of Jacob. She also served as commissioner of the sisterhood of Beth Israel Congregation. She served on the board of directors of Beth Israel for four years. She was very active in almost all synagogue activities and most committees. She was a life member of the Hebrew Women's Benevolent Society.

Esther was Bat Mitzvahed at Beth Israel in 1991. She enjoyed cooking and the arts. Esther Levin, 68, of Vineland She is survived by her husband, Fred Levin of Vineland; two sons and a daughter-in-law, Marc and Sheri Levin of Sewell and Barry Levin of Smithville; a sister, Shirley Cohen of Wilmington; a sister-inlaw, Rhoda Levin of Vineland; and two grandchildren, Jared and Ethan. Services will be held 2 p.m. Sunday at the Beth Israel Synagogue, 1015 Park Vineland.

Interment will be in Alliance Cemetery, Norma. Shiva will be observed at her late residence. RALPH SOPRANO, 89 Area resident, for Texaco Eagles Pt. Plant Ralph John Soprano, 89, of Vineland died Friday at Bishop McCarthy Residence, Vineland. Born in Norwood, he was a employed by Texaco-Eagles Point Plant in Westville and retired in 1974. While living in Mantua from 1950 to 1998, he was the parish trustee and officer of the Holy Name Society at Incarnation Church in Mantua and a member of the Mantua Improvement Association. After moving to the area in 1998, he became a member of St.

Francis of Assisi's Parish, Vineland. He is survived by his wife, Jennie (Gatta) Soprano of Vineland; a daughter and son-in-law, Amelia and Glenn Thompson of High Point, N.C.; a son, the Rev. Ernest R. Soprano of Vineland; a sister, Rose Paullin of Norwood; two brothers, Anthony Soprano and John Soprano, both of Norwood; a son-in-law, Joseph S. Sarbello of East Brunswick; five grandchildren, Joseph, James, John and Jeff Sarbello and Jennifer Thompson; and two great-grandchildren, Morgan and Anthony Sarbello.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Ernesto and Emelia Soprano; a daughter, Louise Soprano Sarbello; a sister, Louise Soprano and brother, Joseph Soprano. A funeral liturgy will be held 10 a.m. Wednesday in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 23 W. Chestnut Vineland.

Interment will be 2:15 p.m. in St. Bridget's Cemetery, Glassboro. Friends may call from 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday and from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m.

He was a member of Beth Israel Synagogue. a Julius graduated from Land O' Lake High School in Tampa, and he attended Cumberland County College, where he graduated Phi Theta Kappa. He was an avid football player and enjoyed computer building and programming. He is survived by his wife, Martha (Kohn) Pettry of Vineland; one daughter, Rivkah Pettry, at home; one son, Alexander Pettry, also at home; father and stepmother, Hoy and Rebecca Pettry of South Carolina; mother, Wanda Powell of Tampa; two half-brothers, Silas Rooker and Hoy Pettry both of Tampa; two half-sisters, Cynda Rooker and Patricia Pettry, both of Tampa; grandparents, Mr. and Mrs.

Chestnut Vineland. THOMAS SUGGS, 57 Pastor, owner of Suggs Auto Body in Vineland, former sheriff Pastor Thomas Earl Suggs, 57, He leaves departed this life on Nov. 4 at Coop- ries his wife er Medical Center. For several years, the Rev. Thomas E.

Suggs has been in service for the Lord. He has been the shepherd of the flock since returning to Mount Hill Baptist Church six years ago. The Rev. Suggs has been instrumental in expanding and creating growth with his beloved church. The Rev.

Suggs possesses extensive educational credentials. He is a graduate of Cumberland County College's law enforcement training as well as a graduate of the police training and criminal justice program at Camden County College. The Rev. Suggs received his associate's degree from Rutgers University in business administration and automotive. He then earned his bachelor's degree in biblical theology from Jameson Bible Institute in Philadelphia, where he was ordained in 1976.

The Rev. Suggs has served the Lord with many positions and organizations over the years, including Big Sisters of Vineland, the NAACP of Vineland, the Vineland African American Coalition, a member of the Baptist Association and a member of the Ebenezer Union. The Rev. Services will be held 1 p.m. Monday at the Union Baptist Temple, Willow and Pine streets, where friends may call two hours prior to the services. Pastor Albert Morgan will conduct the services. There will be no final viewing. Interment will be held immediately following services in Greenwood Memorial Park, MilIville.

Services are entrusted to Edwards and Son Funeral Homes, Inc. Bridgeton and Salem. MARION HOUSE, 91 Lifelong area resident, retired baker for Bridgeton Senior High Marion L. House, 91, of Millville died unexpectedly Nov. 3 at home.

Born and raised in Millville, Mrs. House lived in Bridgeton for more than 53 years before returning to Millville in 1985. She was a retired baker for the Bridgeton Senior High cafeteria, working there more than 18 years. Mrs. House was a longtime member of the West Park Drive Methodist Church, Hopewell Township.

She is survived by a daughter, Arlene L. Simpkins and her husband, Cliff, of Millville; seven grandchildren; and three grandchildren. Private services were held. Shirley married Jothan Stevens in 1968 and from the blessed union they have four children: two sons, Lamont N. Davis of Vineland and Tyrone Stevenson of Millville; and two daughters, Bonita Jones and Joanne Diaz, both of Millville.

In addition to her husband, Jothan Stevens, and her children, she leaves to cherish her memories two brothers, Bruce Jones of Seaford, and Boyd Jones of Vineland; two sisters, Edith Hitch of Clementon and Elnose Powell of Vineland; nine grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends. Services are 11 a.m. today at Faith Tabernacle Church of Deliverance Church, Grove Bridgeton, where friends may call an hour prior to services. Bishop James A. Finney will conduct the service.
