Semi-final 1 of the ICC T20 World Cup 2024, SA vs AFG, will be played in Trinidad.
In the first semi-final at the ongoing ICC T20 World Cup 2024, the undefeated South Africa will face the spirited Afghanistan team at the Brian Lara Stadium in Tarouba, Trinidad on June 26 local time (June 27 Indian Standard Time).
The Aiden Markram-led South Africa have had a superb campaign till now. In the group, the Proteas remained undefeated, winning all four games.
They continued their winning form in the Super 8 round as well by securing three wins in as many games to qualify for the semi-finals. South Africa and India are the only two teams who are unbeaten so far at the ongoing tournament.
The Rashid Khan-led Afghanistan, who entered the T20 World Cup 2024 as dark-horses, have stunned everyone with their performances.
In the group, Afghanistan finished second with three victories to their name. In the Super 8 round, the side upstaged Australia and Bangladesh to reach the semi-finals for the first time at the T20 World Cup.
