Florida commits & targets in the updated Top247 rankings (2024)

Where UF's 2025 targets rank in the latest Top247 update

Blake Alderman

247Sports released its latest update to the Top247 rankings on Wednesday. There were many rankings jumps around the list, as the scouting team at 247Sports has been able to see some players live during off-season camps, the 7on7 circuit, and spring football. This update also is the first ranking this year where 247Sports has expanded its Top247 to include 32 five-star rated players. Of those names, many targets of the Florida Gators are included in the updated Top247 rankings. A few Florida commits were also included as well. Here are where UF's commits and targets landed in the latest update. You can see the entire Top247 rankings HERE.

5-star DB Na'eem Offord (Ohio State commit)

Old Ranking: 5

New Ranking: 6

The Gators offered the five-star committed elsewhere last year, and were able to host him on campus for the first time back in March. The trip went well, and coming out of it, he mentioned wanting to come back for an official visit this summer. He's vocal about being solid in his commitment to the Buckeyes, but is still keeping an eye on teams like Florida, Georgia, and Oregon as places in the mix for him to see. The only trip he's said is set in stone for the month of June is to Ohio State the weekend of June 21 as of now, but Florida and Oregon are dates he's working on setting.

5-star DL Elijah Griffin

Old Ranking: 7

New Ranking 8

Florida was mentioned among teams in Griffin's top 12 back in March, but they are viewed as a team on the outside looking in of his main standouts. He visited earlier this year for the first time in quite some time, but does not have an official visit scheduled for the summer. Of the teams he's got in play, Georgia is viewed as the heavy favorite heading into the summer. Oregon and USC are two official visits he's got his eye on for official this summer, but more are likely to take place in season. Griffin has not come out with any sort of timeline for a decision, but has stated he could take the process into the fall if need be. Perhaps a prolonged recruitment could allow the Gators to snag an official visit at some point, as they are recruiting him still, but the Gators have major ground to make up here.

5-star DB DJ Pickett

Old Ranking: 8

New Ranking: 9

There have been some ups and downs in this recruitment for the Gators. Last year, the Gators were getting some major footing with the No. 1 ranked player in the state of Florida, and hosted him on campus multiple times. A big part in his early interest was the bonds made with former assistant Corey Raymond. When he was dismissed from Florida, the Gators dropped in his recruitment. He even named a top five earlier this year that did not include UF. However, Florida does have a bit of new life here, and a big part of that is due to the effort being made by new secondary coach Will Harris. Florida has hosted Pickett on campus twice this year since Harris' arrival, including a stop last week. Florida has ground to make up on teams like Georgia, LSU, Miami, and Oregon, but are starting to get some footing. He's got eyes on a potential October decision timeline, so there is time. He's planning to take his official visit in the fall, and has mentioned he could pop back in during the summer for unofficial visits. Don't count the Gators out here just yet, but it's not time to pencil him into any mock classes.

5-star Edge Isaiah Gibson (USC commit)

Ranking unchanged, remains No. 17

Georgia had been viewed as the heavy favorite for the last several months, but Gibson made a sharp turn and committed to USC earlier this spring. However, that verbal pledge will not stop him from taking visits. He's got a loaded summer of official visits, which includes stops to Georgia, South Carolina, Auburn, Florida, Ohio State, and Oklahoma. He's mentioned the Trojans are in line for a fall official visit. He's even taken unofficial visits after his commitment to USC, with Florida being one of those stops back in late March. It's not going to be easy for USC to hang on.

5-star Edge Jared Smith

Former Ranking: 19

New Ranking: 18

Florida has still been communicating with the five-star from the state of Alabama. They are in the mix, and recruiting him, but likely behind a handful of other teams. He's got official visits set this summer to South Carolina, Georgia, Tennessee, Florida State, and USC. He's also taken an official visit to Ole Miss. It's been reported he's set an official visit to Florida for the summer, but we've been told that's not been done. With a decision expected to take place after his summer trips, Florida's chances don't look too strong.

5-star TE Elyiss Williams (UGA commit)

Ranking unchanged, remains No. 21

Florida has still been in touch with the five-star Georgia commit. Tight ends coach Russ Callaway was by the school this spring, and the Gators hosted him earlier in the year for an unofficial visit. He has stated he's solid with the Bulldogs, but is still talking with others. Florida State appears to be the team in the best spot to flip him if that were to happen, but doesn't look like an easy task. He's also expected to take an official visit to FSU in the late part of the summer, and will also see Georgia next weekend. He's worth mentioned due to Florida still recruiting him, but the Gators are not viewed as a major threat to steal him away as of now.

5-star WR Caleb Cunningham

Ranking unchanged, remains No. 22

Florida has gotten the five-star pass catcher on campus twice this year, and view him as a priority target this cycle. He's got summer official visits planned to Auburn, Florida, Tennessee, and Alabama so far for the summer, but is likely to take the process into the fall. In-state programs like Ole Miss and Mississippi State are also major players, and won't make it easy for others to pull him from the state. Head coach Billy Napier at Florida has personally been involved in this recruitment, which should indicate how much he's wanted.

5-star S Trey Mcnu*tt

Ranking unchanged, remains No. 23

Florida offered earlier this year, and have had their foot on the gas since then. He got on campus for the first time earlier this spring, and has mentioned a high likelihood of taking an official visit this summer. He's been tinkering with his official visit schedule still, and has not released any public official visit dates. Florida is in the belief he takes an official visit with them this summer though. Ohio State is viewed as the leader in the clubhouse but he's got a handful of others he's still giving a hard look at.

5-star OL Solomon Thomas (FSU commit)

Ranking unchanged, remains No. 24

Florida has long made Thomas a priority target this cycle, with the state not known for producing many top tier linemen. That has not changed even with him making a commitment to Florida State back in December of last year. He's gotten to campus a few times already since the year moved over to 2024, and has an official visit planned for the weekend of June 7. LSU is another team that will get him on campus this offseason for an official visit, and he will end the summer by getting to FSU for an official visit. He does appear open to others, and will give the Gators and Tigers a fair shot to sway him during official visits. He hopes to have his recruitment completely settled by the end of his visits this summer, but heading into them, Florida is very much in this.

5-star WR Jaime Ffrench

Old Ranking: 30

New Ranking: 25

Texas is viewed as the team to beat as of now. The Longhorns, along with LSU, Miami, and Tennessee are set to host him on official visits this summer. He did pop into Gainesville for an unofficial visit earlier this spring, and mentioned wanting to keep dialogue open with the Gators, but Florida's chances don't look all that strong. He's still a target of theirs, given the talent level, but probably not someone worth tracking heavily right now. Ohio State is another team in play, but the Buckeyes do not have a summer official visit set.

5-star DL Malik Autry (Auburn commit)

Old Ranking: 34

New Ranking: 29

Autry is a longtime Auburn commit, but has still been fielding interest from others. He's visited Florida around six or seven times since landing an offer last year, and three of those stops were this year alone. He lives right outside of Auburn, and the Tigers don't seem overly worried about losing him as of now. Florida is viewed as the main team in play if he were to flip, but Ohio State is getting a heavier look. He's going to return to Florida once again in June for an official visit, and he will also see UCF, USC, and Ohio State as well. He's contemplating fitting his official visit to Auburn into the summer, but it could also take place in the fall. He's one of UF's flip targets we've noted that is worth keeping an eye on, given the amount of times he's visited Gainesville.

4-star LB Tavion Wallace

Old Ranking: 26

New Ranking: 36

Florida has gotten Wallace on campus twice this year, and are starting to make a move. Florida State has been tabbed as the leader, but the Gators and Georgia have evened things out on his leaderboard. His recruitment should be viewed as a battle between the Seminoles and Gators as of now heading into his official visit season. A commitment will come in July, and he will see both FSU and UF this summer, along with Arkansas and Georgia. He grew up a fan of the Gators, so that certainly helps.

4-star WR Vernell Brown III

Old Ranking: 169

New Ranking 38

A major jumper in the latest Top247 rankings. He's a legacy target for UF, and has visited Gainesville numerous times over the course of his life. He's been to campus three or four times this year alone. Ohio State was getting a lot of chatter earlier in the year, but in-state teams like Florida, Florida State, and Miami have gotten some traction. Florida and Florida State specifically are the ones starting to move the needle. He's going to visit all four of those mentioned teams this summer, and then will look to make a decision before his senior season. He's an immense talent, and someone the Florida staff has made a priority.

4-star QB Keelon Russell (SMU commit)

Old Ranking: 63

New Ranking: 39

The SMU commit jumped from not ranked to inside the Top100 in the last Top247 update, and he moves up again in the latest update. He's been committed to the Mustangs since last year, but plenty of new interest has come his way this year. The Gators offered back in January during a visit, and are set to get a return visit this summer for an official visit. Ole Miss has hosted him, and so has SMU for official visits. He will see Florida, Alabama, UCLA, and Oregon are some he's looking to visit this summer. It may not be easy for others to flip him from SMU as of today, but he's got a ton of teams that are going to make that process tough.

4-star Edge Javion Hilson (FSU commit)

Old Ranking: 41

New Ranking: 44

Florida has remained in touch with the talented edge rusher, and hosted him on campus earlier this spring. It was his first real in-depth visit to UF's campus since adding an offer last year. He was a former Alabama commit, but flipped to FSU when Nick Saban retired. He's going to visit Florida, UCF, Alabama, and FSU this summer. Of the teams still in play, Alabama appears to have the best shot to flip him.

4-star Edge Jakaleb Faulk (Auburn commit)

Old Ranking: 46

New Ranking: 43

Faulk has been committed to Auburn since last year, and is viewed as a tough flip for anyone else. His older brother is on the Tigers' roster, and he's been a regular visitor to campus dating back to before his time in high school. He's going to visit Florida State, Florida, Auburn, and Alabama this summer, so he's at least giving others a shot to make their pitch.

4-star S Eric Winters

Old Ranking: 49

New Ranking: 53

Winters has held an offer from the Gators for quite some time now, and made his first ever visit to UF earlier in the spring. He's got Florida among his top five schools, but Auburn and Georgia are viewed as the biggest contenders. He's going to take official visits to Miami, Georgia, Auburn, and Tennessee this summer, so the Gators are the only school along his top five without an official visit. That is pretty telling about where the Gators sit here if he makes a decision this offseason.

4-star WR Dallas Wilson (Oregon commit)

Old Ranking: 63

New Ranking: 64

Despite an early commitment to Oregon, the in-state teams of Florida, Florida State, and Miami are pressing heavily for the big body wide out. Of those in-state teams, Miami may have the best shot to change his mind, but Florida is getting a strong look from him as well. He will visit both of those teams this summer, and will visit Oregon the final official visit weekend of June. He's been up and down with how solid his commitment is with the Ducks, but as of late, he's seemed more solid in that pledge.

4-star WR Donovan Olugbode

Old Ranking: 233

New Ranking: 69

A big jump for another big body pass catcher in the state of Florida. He's a priority target for the Gators, and someone that the staff has felt fairly confident in their chances with. Washington, USC, and Florida are probably three to watch as of now, and he's already taken an official visit to the Huskies. He will see the Trojans and Gators this summer, along with Missouri. A decision is ideally going to come before the start of the season, so the remainder of his official visit schedule could better shape how this recruitment will play out.

4-star LB Nathaniel Owusu-Boateng

Old Ranking: 45

New Ranking: 70

Another priority target for the Gators at IMG Academy. He's been to Gainesville a handful of times over the last year, including a stop last weekend. He's going to see USC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, and Michigan this summer for official visits, but is looking to take the process into the fall. He's mentioned an in-season official visit with the Gators, which could be beneficial given he's taking a slower approach with his timeline. He's been fairly open with his recruitment, and hasn't exactly named any true contenders. Interest in the Gators is high per Owusu-Boateng though.

4-star DB Graceson Littleton

Ol Ranking: 235

New Ranking: 71

Florida was among the top 10 teams Littleton he included on his list back in April. He's been a stock up guy since around the start of the year, and now sits with 40 offers to date as he climbs up the Top247. He was excited about his offer from the Gators back in March, and lives a short drive away from campus, but has not gotten to Gainesville this year that we know of. He's a target, and worth following, but there hasn't been much chatter about UF since the offer was extended.

4-star Edge Zion Grady

Old Ranking: 55

New Ranking: 75

Much like his Enterprise teammate, Eric Winters, the Gators are a team listed in the mix, but are viewed near the back of the pack. He made his first ever visit to campus earlier this spring, and did mention he was thinking about a potential official visit. So far, his schedule looks like Miami, Florida State, Auburn, Tennessee, and Ohio State. A decision could very well come in the summer, but he's also tossed out the idea of potentially taking it into the fall. If he does wait, perhaps Florida can get an official visit scheduled and make a run, but they have ground to make up either way as of now.

4-star Edge Jalen Wiggins (UF commit)

Old Ranking: 66

New Ranking: 77

Florida's highest rated commitment in their 2025 class. He's been a regular visitor to campus over the course of the last year when he was offered, and has already taken around four trips this year alone. He's stated his commitment is solid, and is recruiting for the Gators, but will take some visits this summer. He's going to see Stanford, Florida, and Florida State in that order. He doesn't seem to be someone to worry about getting away as of now, but the visits elsewhere make him worth keeping track of.

4-star DB Ben Hanks Jr.

Old Ranking: 73

New Ranking: 81

Another legacy target for the Gators this cycle. Despite that Miami has been viewed as the team to watch heading into offseason official visit season. The plan is to see Louisville, Florida, Georgia, Florida State, and Miami during that stretch. A decision is likely to happen before the start of his senior year, so he's giving a chance for others to make a move on the hometown Hurricanes.

4-star S Lagonza Hayward

Old Ranking: 72

New Ranking: 74

Florida is among the top three with Tennessee and South Carolina as of now. He made his first ever visit to UF's campus on Tuesday of this week, and was very impressed with what he saw. Austin Armstrong and Will Harris at Florida have been pressing hard for him since offering back in January. He's going to see Georgia, USC, Florida, and Tennessee this summer for official visits, and is likely to have a decision this summer. The Gators are starting to trend up here, but the Volunteers are the team to beat as of now.

4-star TE Andrew Olesh

Old Ranking: 184

New Ranking: 84

A 100 spot jump for the four-star tight end target. He visited UF's campus for the first time back in the spring, and has an official visit set for the month of June. Alabama, Penn State, and Michigan are some other teams he will visit this summer as well on the official visit front. The in-state Nittany Lions appear to be in a good spot, but Michigan is one to watch. He will give the Gators and Crimson Tide their shot to make a strong case this summer after spending an extended about of time on their campus.

4-star Edge Cedric Works

Old Ranking: 77

New Ranking: 86

Florida offered last month, and secured an official visit for the summer. That would be his first time on campus, but he does know about the Gators due to his dad being from the state. Penn State and Kentucky are two other summer official visits planned.

4-star WR Tayln Taylor

Old Ranking: Not ranked in the Top247

New Ranking: 97

Florida has its eye on Taylor for the last few months, and offered earlier in the month of May. He's not visited campus yet, and has official visits set for Georgia, Notre Dame, and Ohio State this offseason. He's a fresh target for the Gators, so perhaps something gets settled on the visit front, but that would need to happen first before he's someone to watch closely.

4-star S Hylton Stubbs (USC) commit

Old Ranking: 94

New Ranking: 99

A longtime priority target for the Gators. In fact, he named the Gators his leader for most of this year. However, he pulled a surprise by committing to USC back in March. Though that pledge is in place, and he is vocal about that being a solid commitment, others are still going to press for him. Florida is one of those programs, and has already gotten him on campus once since his commitment to the Trojans. He's going to take official visits to USC, Florida, and Miami this summer. Even if he goes through the summer still committed to USC, he's going to keep track on how teams play this fall, so his recruitment will continue on even then. Florida's plan on making him a priority has not changed, and they won't stop pressing till he signs.

4-star OL Douglas Utu

Old Ranking: 97

New Ranking: 101

New Florida assistant John Decoster has been pressing of the four-star lineman. He's not visited Florida so far, but conversations about an in-season official visit have been ongoing. While Florida is active in their chase, the first step for them will be getting him on campus.

4-star DB Blake Woodby

Old Ranking: 95

New Ranking: 127

After backing off an early commitment to Ohio State in the last few days, Woodby reported an offer from the Florida Gators. He's not visited before, so that is the next step here.

4-star Edge London Merritt (Ohio State commit)

Old Ranking: 125

New Ranking: 135

Merritt committed to Ohio State earlier this year, and has visits set to the Buckeyes and North Carolina for the summer. The Tarheels are the team most active in still recruiting him. He has recently mentioned the Gators are still in touch, and are on his mind to get a possible official visit.

4-star OL Ziyare Addison

Old Ranking: 131

New Ranking: 140

Florida has long been mentioned as a team in his group of standouts, but were viewed being near the backend of that list. That changed after getting him on campus twice in the month of April. While he's still adding offers, and dealing with a deep group of contenders, the Gators are in a much better spot since the spring rolled out. He will visit Florida for an official visit next weekend, and also has trips planned to Oregon, Penn State, and Florida State this summer. He's already taken official visits to UCLA and Georgia. Michigan and Ohio State offered this week as well.

4-star RB Ousmane Kromah

Old Ranking: 141

New Ranking: 160

Kromah has not visited UF's campus this year, but has in the past. He's previously mentioned them as an official visit destination for the month of June. Georgia is a team in play, as well as Florida State. He's already taken an official visit to Auburn and the Tigers made a good impression. Miami is another team he's got an official visit planned with. While he's previously stated an official visit to Florida will take place, we are interested to see if that hold true, as the Gators already have two running backs committed in their 2025 class. They've already canceled two official visits with a pair of backs that had also been previously set.

4-star OL Tavaris Dice (Auburn commit)

Old Ranking: 152

New Ranking: 163

A longtime top target for Florida, who committed to Auburn over the Gators earlier this year. Despite that, he's still keeping contact open with Florida, and has visited them once this spring after his commitment to the Tigers. He's going to official visit both teams this summer, and does still seem very interested in UF.

4-star Edge Jayden Woods

Old Ranking: 154

New Ranking: 167

Woods visited Florida's campus for the first time this spring, and has them in his top five along with Wisconsin, Purdue, Penn State, and Tennessee. However, they are the only team in that group that does not have an official visit planned. Woods states he and Florida are still working on a date, and we've heard the Gators are working to bump a weekend visit from one of the other finalists, as they are not looking to do mid-week official visits this summer. If a visit does not materialize, and a commitment timeline looking like this summer, don't expect Florida to be the pick.

4-star QB Antwann Hill

Old Ranking: 67

New Ranking: 174

Florida has gotten Hill on campus several times since offering early on, including a pair of trips this year. He's set for an official visit next weekend, and also has a visit marked on the calendar for Memphis this summer. He's one of three current quarterback targets for the Gators, but doesn't appear to be a top target for the staff. Memphis has been pressing harder, and should be considered the team to beat as of now as official visits approach.

4-star S Ladarian Clardy

Old Ranking: 169

New Ranking: 178

Florida offered the in-state defender at the start of May, and he mentioned wanting to set an official visit with the Gators after landing that tender. Florida State and Miami both offered this month, and he's already set official visits to both the in-state programs. UCF, Mississippi State, and Ole Miss are three others he plans to visit this summer for an official as well. Washington already hosted him in the month of May for an official visit. If Clardy makes a decision this summer, which is likely, the Gators are not looking like a major player unless an official visit gets figured out.

4-star OL Micah Debose

Old Ranking: 175

New Ranking: 189

The Gators have been actively recruiting the four-star lineman, and hosted him on campus for a two day stay back in late March. He's a former Georgia commit, but backed off that pledge. As of now, Alabama and LSU are in the top two of his recruitment heading into official visit season. At one time Debose had planned at one time to take an official visit to UF the weekend of May 31, but LSU will now get that date. Ohio State and Alabama official visits are also planned for June as well. At one time, Florida looking like he would visit the weekend of May 31, but now the date is set for June 7.

4-star LB Ty Jackson

Old Ranking: 214

New Ranking: 195

A quiet kid, who doesn't have a ton of say about the recruiting process when speaking with media. He is taking a slower approach with the process, and is looking to take his recruitment into the later part of his senior season, if not signing day. This summer he will take official visits to Penn State, Georgia, Florida State, and Tennessee. Those teams are in the mix, but so is Alabama, Miami, and Florida. The Gators have gotten him on campus twice this year, and are working to get him back for an official visit sometime in the season.

4-star WR Cortez Mills

Old Ranking: 185

New Ranking: 196

One of many in-state wide outs the Gators have been actively pursuing this cycle. He visited campus back in April, and has an official visit set for the month of June. He's already taken an official visit to Nebraska so far, and will also see Clemson and Miami this summer along with the Gators. Oklahoma is another team in contention for a summer official visit. As his official visits this offseason ramp up, Miami is the team viewed to be in the best spot.

4-star DL Myron Charles

Old Ranking: 199

New Ranking: 210

Florida State has long been the team in front for Charles, and appears to be in great shape as official visits approach. Florida has gotten him on campus twice this year, and the addition of Gerald Chatman has been helpful to the Gators. The connection has gotten strong, and it's allowed the Gators to move into a better spot than they were previously. Florida will get the first official visit next weekend, and then he will see Miami and Florida State.

4-star S Bryce Fitzgerald

Old Ranking: 203

New Ranking: 213

Florida has been very high on the South Florida defender, and since the arrival of Will Harris, the Gators have been pressing for him. He's set to visit Florida, USC, and Miami this summer for official visits. Of that trio, the Gators and Hurricanes are viewed to be in the best spot. Miami has gotten him on campus a ton so far this year, while the Gators have hosted him twice. Florida State has gotten a look also, and Georgia and LSU have turned up their talks with him this spring as well.

4-star OL Mario Nash

Old Ranking: Not ranked in Top247

New Ranking: 236

Florida offered the four-star, and newcomer to the Top247 last week during a visit to campus. He's got a booked official visit schedule for the summer, but did mention the Gators could be in line for one this fall. He doesn't appear to be in a hurry to make a commitment as of now.

4-star RB Waltez Clark (UF commit)

Old Ranking: 236

New Ranking: 239

The first name to commit to the Gators this cycle. He's been committed since the past fall, and has remained in the fold. He's been to campus several times since joining the class, including a pair of stops this spring. He's planning to take his official visit to UF in June, and is still deciding on if he wants to take other trips. A few schools have still been in touch with him this year.

4-star DL Kevin Oatis

Old Ranking: 241

New Ranking: 242

The Gators were able to get Oatis on campus for the first time, when he stopped in earlier this year. He's held an offer from UF since last year, but hadn't made the trip over until this past January. He's known defensive line coach Gerald Chatman from previous coaching stops at LSU and Tulane. Chatman is now recruiting the four-star at Florida, and has been his main contact. Known official visits thus far have been set to Arkansas, USC, and Mississippi State. He's mentioned teams like Florida, Texas A&M, Louisville, and LSU as other potential official visits destinations, but dates, if any, are not known.
