The college basketball transfer portal is buzzing with a steady flow ofentries and increased tick in commitments since the dead period ended late last week. Thespring portal window began March 18 and about 1,700 players already entered. Almost 200 of thosetransfer prospects are committed elsewhere, but that means a vast majority are still searching for a new destination for the 2024-25 season.

About one-third of the top-100 transfer prospects in the 2024 cycle are off the board with Alabama, Arkansas, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Texas and several others landing some of the most recent commitments since late last week. While most of the early pledges from the transfer portal were mid-major prospects making the jump up to power conference programs, many of the latest commitments are prospectsshifting between high-majors.

The list of best available players remaining in the portalis still loaded with immediate impact prospects that project to be hot commodities for those teams in search of specific needs.The spring portal window remains open until May 1.

Ole Miss secured its first transfer commitment of the spring window Saturday when former UNC Greensboro forward Mikeal Brown-Jones announced his pledge to Chris Beard and the Rebels. The 6-foot-8, 220-pound veteran averaged 18.9 points, 7.5 rebounds and 1.1 assists per game as the top scorer for the Spartans last season. He shot 54.0% from the field, including 43.1% from 3-point range. Brown-Jones has one additional year of eligibility remaining.

The lengthy 6-foot-8, 215-pound small forwardarrives via TCUafter starting his college career at Texas Tech under former head coach Chris Beard. Peavy started in all 34 games for the Horned Frogs this season, averaging 10.9 points, 4.9 rebounds and 2.6 assists — third-most on the team in each category. He shot 45.8% from the field and 31.0% from deep.

It is unlikely that Rick Barnes and Tennessee find another Dalton Knecht in the transfer portal,but the Volunteers did land a key addition Monday in Hofstra forward Darlinstone Dubar. The 6-foot-8, 210-pound junior averaged 17.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.4 assists per game this past season. He earned Second Team All-Coastal Athletic Association honors. Dubar shot 53.9% from the field. He has one additional year of eligibility remaining.

The Co-Player of the Year in the American Athletic Conference averaged 15.3 points, 2.5 rebounds and 2.1 assists per game, helping the Bulls win the regular-season league title. The 6-foot-4, 220-pound small forward has one year of eligibility remaining.

LSU added one of the top scorers and playmakers in the transfer portal last week with former UT Martin point guard Jordan Sears en route to Baton Rouge. The 5-foot-11, 185-pound junior averaged 21.6 points, 4.6 rebounds and 4.5 assists while shooting 43.2% from the field and from 3-point range this season. Sears twice earned First Team All-Ohio Valley Conference honors. He has one year of eligibility remaining after two seasons each at UT Martin and Gardner-Webb.

Chris Beard landed a key transfer portal commitment Monday as former Belmont standout and Missouri Valley Conference All-Newcomer Team member Malik Dia pledged to the Rebels. The 6-foot-9, 200-pound versatile forward averaged 16.9 points and 5.8 rebounds per game while shooting 34.1% from 3-point range. A coveted transfer prospect this spring, Dia has two years of eligibility remaining after previously transferring from Vanderbilt.

The 6-foot-4, 205-pound senior averaged 14.0 points, 4.6 assists and 4.4 rebounds while starting in all 34 games played this past season for the Hawkeyes.Perkins shot 43.2% from the field, but just 29.9% from 3-point range. Missouri now holds two transfer portal commitments this spring under head coach Dennis Gates.

The first commitment of the John Calipari era at Arkansas is a familiar face. Former Kentucky big man Zvonimir Ivisic announced his decision Monday and will also make the move to Fayetteville for next season. The 7-foot-2, 234-pound freshman averaged 5.5 points, 3.3 rebounds and 1.3 blocks in just 11.7 minutes per game this past campaign. Ivisic saw action in only 15 contests. The native of Croatia has three years of eligibility remaining.

Bradshaw appeared in 26 games at Kentucky and averaged just 4.9 points and 3.3 rebounds while shooting 57.6% from the field.

The 6-foot-6, 185-pound shooting guard is set to return to the Lone Star State for the 2024-25 season as Texas joins the SEC. Mark averaged a team-high 16.2 points as a junior for the Razorbacks this past season, adding 4.3 rebounds and 1.8 assists per game while shooting 48.0% from the field. He has one year of eligibility remaining after spending the first three seasons of his college career at Houston.
