Game days are my favorite kinda days this time of year. The weather is getting colder, and days are getting shorter. There is really not much better to than tailgate or homegate with friends and family.
Our New England team is on fire and kicking some butt which is always appreciated! It makes tailgating so much more rewarding and fun.
If you love to enjoy the game with good food, good drinks, and good company you will want to enter the Johnsonville Tailgate Throwdown Contest which is accepting entries now through November 5th!

Ingredients Needed for Brats in a Blanket
- Johnsonville Bratwurst in your favorite variety-they have many
- Cheddar block style cheese
- Crescent Dough
- Favorite seasoning- I like everything bagel seasoning
- 2 tablespoons of melted butter
How to Make Brats in a Blanket
Start out by grilling, or pan-frying your Johnsonville Bratwurst until fully cooked.
Allow brats to cool until you can slice them into 3 pieces each. You might end up with extra sausage.
Open up crescent dough and unwrap each triangle.
Slice each triangle into two halves the long way.
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper, and preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
Using one half of each slice of crescent roll, wrap sausage and cheese chunk slice into the dough like a blanket.
Leave at least 2 inches of space between each on the baking sheet.
Bake for 11-12 minutes until crescent dough is puffy and golden brown.
Serve with cheese sauce, spicy mustard or ketchup for dipping!

How to Freeze Brats in a Blanket
Assemble pigs as directed. Add them in a single layer to a baking sheet and freeze until solid (about 4 hours). Once frozen, add frozen brats to a freezer-safe bag. I would personally keep them frozen for up to 6 weeks for best taste.

How to Bake from Frozen
To bake from frozen, they will need more time than fresh baking. I recommend 20-25 minutes or until the crescent dough is puffy and golden brown.
